B2 Player Handouts

Doing these have been a pain in the ass, but I think that they'll be much useful at the table. So here you are!

Let me know if they proof to be any useful to you. Also, if you manage to produce a PDF, it would be nice to upload it over at OCP.

Errata: Apparently, there's something weird going on with the 100ft level curve. It's not really something that screw up the map, so it shouldn't be a problem. Also, I forgot to add level curve's altitudes, and I'm just too lazy to get back and apply corrections.

  1. These should really have been included in the original.

Tell Dragnsfoot and what-all, they'll be excited.

    1. Yeah, I think so. I don't even have an account on Dragonsfoot, I think they can manage to find it themselves :)

  2. Those are really nice.

But actually, I didn't tell my players where all the cave mouths are. I figure no one at the Keep mapped them and then hands the map out to would-be plunderers, and even if they did it wouldn't be very accurate. Also, I always assumed (and ran B2 as if) you couldn't see the caves that were shrouded by forest so you didn't know they were there.

I went ahead and told my players this time that the rough sketch I gave them of the caves just showed what they could see from the "mouth" of the valley, and left it up to them to find out if that was everything. It wasn't, of course, and it meant that when the hobgoblins said "two caves down is (X)" and the players went two caves down on their map (which was missing one) and found Y, instead, X being three caves down, it resulted in much amusing error.

Obviously I'm not trying to put down your work here - they're really nice. Just that I took a very different approach!

    1. No reason to worry at all! I made these for my game and B2 is such a wonderful module I guess anyone plays it really different.

  3. Very nice. Like them, might even steal them for my own game.

  4. Below is a link to a version of the CoC redrawn in color, including a Players' map that inexplicably shows all of the inside caves (must be for a later edition...).
